Jones Peach Orchard is located on 125-acres on U.S. 51 just two miles from Old
Millington Winery. During the summer at Jones Orchard, you can pick your
own peaches, plums, pears, blackberries and blueberries. (If you
don't feel like picking, you may also buy already-picked fruit.) Be sure
to check the Jones Orchard web site for approximate dates each variety of fruit
will ripen.Year-round, you will also find a large variety of jams, jellies, relishes,
sauces, fruits and vegetables canned in glass jars. They also have deli
sandwiches, home-made vegetable soup, meats and vegetables (on weekdays), chili
and cornbread, cakes, pies and breads.

Bordering on the mighty Mississippi River, two-thirds of this 12,617-acre
park is bottomland hardwood forests of large oak, cypress and tupelo. The
park contains two lakes, 20 miles of hiking trails, a 3-mile bike trail, and
beautiful picnic areas and playgrounds. A boat ramp is maintained on the
Mississippi River. Turkey, beaver, foxes and over 200 species of birds and
other wildlife are abundant. The park is named for Edward J. Meeman who
helped establish this park as well as the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
The park has a nature center with various exhibits and a variety of programs
including pontoon boat trips, deep-swamp canoe floats and guided hikes.Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park has 6 two-bedroom cabins and 49 campsites.
Each campsite has a table, grill, and electrical and water hookups. A
modern bathhouse provides hot showers, lavatories and toilets. A dump
station is available for self-contained trailer rigs.
Year-round fishing is available on the 125-acre Poplar Tree Lake which
features largemouth bass, bream and catfish. Managed hunts for small game,
waterfowl and deer are conducted at the park by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources
Agency. Information concerning schedules and permits may be obtained from

Located just outside the entrance to Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park, the
Shelby Forest General Store is a very popular place to eat and to get supplies.
The store serves breakfast from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., and selections include
omelets, biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage, bacon, country ham, hash browns,
cereal, oatmeal, cinnamon rolls, etc. Lunch and dinner are served from 6
a.m. to closing and include hamburgers, cheeseburgers, French fries, onion
rings, Philly cheese steaks, wraps, chicken strips, grilled chicken sandwiches,
fried bologna sandwiches, catfish sandwiches, hot dogs, corn dogs, salads, pie,
brownies and other favorite.You may eat inside at the lunch counter or tables, eat outside on the porch
or get any item to go.
The store itself has snacks and drinks and most of the other supplies you'll
need to enjoy your visit to the park.

USA Stadium when it was the Olympic training site. The stadium is now host
to numerous tournaments each year including the Junior College Division II World

Memphis Belle

The Memphis Belle is one of the most famous aircraft of World War II and
among the most recognized aircraft in the world. The Memphis Belle
was the first B-17 Flying
Fortress Bomber to complete 25 missions over Germany, then she returned back to the
United States for a War Bonds tour. The Memphis Belle has been designated
a national historic treasure by the United State Air Force. The
plane's history was featured in the 1990 Warner Brothers movie "Memphis Belle,"
although the real Memphis Belle was not used in the filming.
The Memphis Belle's home today is the Millington Municipal Airport. You
may see her being disassembled for restoration at the Jim Webb Restoration
Center. From U.S. 51, go east on Navy Road. Turn left on Hornet
Avenue which is just past the entrance to the Navy Base. Proceed north
past Funafuti Street. The restoration center is immediately to your left a
the foot of the red and white water tower.

International Goat Days Festival

The International Goat Days Festival draws crowds to experience family fun at
this unique Tennessee event. The festival is held at USA Stadium in
Millington the second weekend in September.
Attendees can watch goat contests, goat chariot races and a rodeo.
Children will love the goat petting zoo, the camping kids area and plenty of
games and rides.
Visit displays of Indian Culture, gristmill crushing, antique equipment,
antique engines and antique tractors. Enter the Bar-Q-Que goat contest,
Dutch oven cooking contest, the string band competition, the fishing rodeo, or
